Rocket Math
Rocket math is a program that we use to help students memorize their math facts. A few times a week, students get out their rocket math folders, meet with their partner, and practice their facts. Then, they take a one minute timed test to try to pass their rocket math goal. Each student's goal is determined by how fast they write as an individual. There are only four new facts introduced with each new test. This helps the students quickly master those facts while reviewing all of the previous facts that they've learned as well. Once they have passed all of the subtraction tests (A-Z), they will move on to multiplication!
Math Games
When students are done with their math assignment for the day, if they have time, they may choose to do a math game. These math games are set up to help the students continuously review topics that have already been taught, and engage students who finish with their work early. There are many different options for the students to choose from.
